청자상감국화문병(靑瓷象嵌菊花紋甁)은 고려청자의 정제된 비색(翡色)과 섬세한 상감 기법, 안정감 있는 조형미를 두루 갖춘 대표적인 유물입니다.
상감 기법은 도자 표면을 정교하게 파낸 후 상감재를 메우는 기법으로, 본래 금속 공예에서 기원하여 고려시대 도자에 독창적으로 접목되었습니다. 세밀한 표현은 물론 색채와 질감의 대비를 통해 탁월한 장식 효과를 이끌어냅니다.
본 유물은 외반(外反)한 구연부에 협소한 경부를 지나 점차 팽창되는 동체를 지닌 전형적인 고려 청자병의 형태입니다. 특히 점차 벌어진 구연부와 하단부에 집중된 무게 중심은 안정적인 곡선미와 비례미를 형성하며, 전체적인 조형 균형을 강조합니다.
상단부에는 운문(雲文)이, 중앙에는 국화 절지문(切枝文), 하단부에는 연판문대(蓮瓣文帶)가 정교하게 상감되어 있어 문양 조합의 완성도를 높입니다. 또한 경부 상단에 부착된 고리는 뚜껑을 고정하기 위한 실용적 장치로 추정됩니다.

象嵌技法源自金属工艺，是在器物表面精细刻划纹样后填入不同色料的装饰方式。高丽匠人巧妙地将其运用于陶瓷之中，不仅能呈现细腻生动的图案，还能通过色彩与质感的对比，增强视觉层次与装饰效果。
本瓶采用典型的高丽青瓷瓶式样：外撇口、细颈、肩部柔和过渡至饱满的腹部。逐渐张开的瓶口与下方集中分布的重量，共同营造出沉稳的曲线美与视觉平衡。
瓶颈上部饰以云纹，中段环绕象嵌菊花折枝纹，底部则饰以莲瓣纹带，层次分明，纹样组合精致协调，提升了整体的装饰美感。瓶颈上方附有小环，推测为固定盖子的实用构件。

This Celadon Vase with Inlaid Chrysanthemum Design is a representative artifact of Goryeo celadon, combining its signature refined bluish-green hue (bisaek), delicate inlay technique, and balanced form.
The inlay technique (sanggam) involves carving patterns into the surface and filling them with contrasting materials. Originating from metalcraft, this technique was uniquely adapted for ceramics during the Goryeo period. It achieves exquisite decorative effects through fine detail, color contrast, and texture.
This vase displays the typical Goryeo form, with an outward-flaring mouth, narrow neck, and a gradually expanding body. The flared rim and weight concentrated toward the base create a stable and harmonious curvature and proportion, emphasizing the overall sculptural balance.
The upper part features a cloud motif, the central section displays cut chrysanthemum branches, and the lower band shows lotus petal patterns—all finely inlaid to create a cohesive and sophisticated decorative composition. The ring attached near the neck is presumed to have functioned as a practical device for securing a lid.
The refined patterns beneath the transparent celadon glaze and the smooth flow of lines embody the artistic essence of Goryeo craftsmanship.
