입체감이 돋보이는 사방형 화병입니다. 네 면이 반듯한 사각 구조와 또렷한 모서리 표현, 네 다리로 이루어진 기형은 고대 청동기 의기(儀器)의 형식을 모방한 것입니다. 송대에는 주나라 이후 제례용 기물의 기준이 되어온 방정(方鼎), 방호(方壺) 등의 방형 청동기 형식을 도자기로 계승하였습니다.
구연부 아래 기하학 띠문양은 청동기 뇌문(雷紋)을 단순화한 형태입니다. 몸체 양 측면의 상서로운 짐승머리 문양(瑞獸紋)은 청동기 수면문(獸面紋) 전통을 도자로 구현한 것입니다. 송대 도자에서 짐승머리 문양은 수호적 상징, 길상의 의미, 권위의 암시 등을 뜻합니다.
표면을 덮은 자주색과 유백색의 유약은 소성 과정에서의 온도 차이와 가마 환경에 따라 생겨난 색상 변화를 보여줍니다. 표면에 고르게 나타나는 빙렬은 유약층이 식으면서 생긴 미세 균열로, 색조의 깊이를 더합니다. 이 유물은 송대 귀족이나 문인 사회에서 선호되던 감상용 도자기의 일종으로 추정됩니다.
此花瓶形态四方立体，引人注目。器身四面为端正的方形结构，棱角分明，底部以四足支撑，其整体造型仿自古代青铜礼器。宋代工匠沿袭周代以来的礼制文化，将青铜方鼎、方壶等方形器式转化为瓷器造型。
口沿下的几何纹带为对青铜器上雷纹的简化表现。器身两侧的瑞兽首纹则继承了青铜器兽面纹的传统，并以陶瓷工艺加以呈现。在宋代瓷器中，兽首纹多象征护佑、吉祥，亦寓含权威之意。
通体所见的紫色与乳白色釉彩，是因烧成过程中温度差异及窑炉气氛变化而自然生成的色泽层次。表面均匀分布的冰裂纹，是釉层冷却时形成的细微裂隙，使整体色调更显深邃。此器应为宋代贵族或文人士大夫所喜爱的供赏型瓷器之一。
This square vase is stoutly potted with a distinct three-dimensional form. Its rectangular structure, characterized by four flat sides, sharp edges, and four legs, is modeled after ancient bronze ritual vessels. During the Song Dynasty, ceramic forms often inherited the styles of square bronzes such as fangding (方鼎, square cauldrons) and fanghu (方壺, square jars), which had served as the standard for ritual vessels since the Zhou Dynasty.
The geometric band below the rim presents a simplified interpretation of the bronze leiwen (雷紋, thunder pattern). The auspicious animal masks flanking the body render traditional bronze beast-mask motifs in a ceramic medium. In Song ceramics, these animal masks symbolized guardianship, auspiciousness, and authority.
The vessel is covered in a purple and milky-white glaze, displaying the transmutation of color resulting from temperature variations and the kiln atmosphere during firing. The crackle pattern evenly distributed across the surface—fine fissures formed as the glaze cooled—adds depth to the color tones. This piece is presumed to be a vessel for appreciation, highly favored by the aristocracy and literati of the Song period.
